Urban Arts is in its third week of its summer program. Classes are held Monday through Thursday in the morning and in the afternoon. The early classes are reserved for children ages 4-6, and children ages 7 and up come in the afternoon. During these summer sessions, children study the lives, works, and techniques of a different artist each day. Today’s work was inspired by French impressionist, Claude Monet. In addition to studying new artists each day, children also explore different genres and mediums each day. Today’s materials were water color and tempera paint. Registration for the remainder of the summer classes can be found online at the Urban Arts website:http://www.
Registration for Fall classes will also be accepted now. The Fall classes start September 8, and feature sessions for adults and children to learn about art theory and practice and develop their skills. Students at Urban Arts learn about art history, elements of design, different art principles, and more. Student art exhibitions are showcased throughout the year, and classes are designed for children to continue their studies as they get older while still having fun.
